On October 16, 2009, Harold Kerr, a long time friend and supporter of Agriculture in the Classroom, passed away at his home in Corvallis, Oregon. He was 74 years old.
Harold had a deep love of agriculture and Oregon. Indeed his career was dedicated to Oregon’s agricultural community and helping farmers and ranchers throughout the state. He was a 4-H agent in Crook County, a crops and livestock agent in Morrow and Wasco counties, and later in his career an associate director of the OSU Extension Service in Corvallis.
Harold recognized the importance of teaching youth about the source of their food and fiber and valued the work of AITC. He generously made arrangements to bequeath a gift of $5,000 to the program. Additionally, Harold and his wife Carol listed AITC as a recipient of memorial gifts in his name.
Harold’s humor and wisdom will be missed. |
